Caucasian Mathematics Conference CMC I

Tbilisi, Georgia, September 5 and 6, 2014

The first Caucasian Mathematics Conference (CMC I) will be organized in Tbilisi, Georgia, on September 5 and 6, 2014 (arriving day September 4), under the auspices of the European Mathematical Society and the cooperation of the Armenian, Azerbaijan, Georgian, Iranian, Russian and Turkish Mathematical Societies. The scope of the Caucasian Mathematical Conference (CMC) is to bring together mathematicians from Caucasian and neighbouring countries annually in one of these countries. The CMC is partially supported by the EMS and is welcoming mathematicians from all over the world.
A Steering Committee has been formed for the management of the CMC-conferences and consists of representatives of participating countries and institutions:
Carles Casacuberta (ex officio; Chair of the EMS Committee for European Solidarity),
Mohammed Ali Dehghan (President of the Iranian Mathematical Society),
Roland Duduchava (President of the Georgian Mathematical Union),
Tigran Harutyunyan (President of the Armenian Mathematical Union),
Misir Jamayil oglu Mardanov (Representative of the Azerbaijan Mathematical Union),
Marta Sanz-Sole (ex officio; President of the European Mathematical Society),
Armen Sergeev (Representative of the Moscow Mathematical Society and EMS),
Betül Tanbay ( President of the Turkish Mathematical Society).
The Steering Committee is responsible for the scientific program of the conference, selects invited speakers, approves the list of invited young mathematicians (under 40), selected preliminary by the National Mathematical Societies. The Steering Committee appoints the Chairman of each CMC conference.
A Local Organizing Committee is responsible for organizing the first conference (selected by the Chairman): Buchukuri Tengiz, Davitashvili Tinatin (Scientific secretary), Duduchava Roland (Chairman), Eliashvili Merab, Natroshvili David (Vice Chairman), Sigua Levan.
Program of the conference: : invited talks (2-3 talks per day, 50 minutes each) in the morning and parallel sessions. Parallel Sessions meet in the afternoon, after a lunch break, with contributed talks (25 minutes).

Parallel Sessions: Participants wishing to organize Parallel Sessions are invited to send applications before June 15, 2014. To launch a Parallel Session there should be at least five participants to this session; otherwise no constraints.
Conference fees: 20 USD or equivalent in GEL (Georgian Lari), or in Euro. Organizers will apply for a financial support to different foundations and, in case of success, will offer accommodations to selected participants.

Abstract submission: Abstracts for the book of abstracts should be prepared in LaTex format according to the standard template file and should not exceed 1 page. We kindly ask you to follow the rules, indicated in the template files. The abstract template file is downloadable from the conference WEB and is mailed upon your request. Participants have to submit the LaTeX-source and PDF files of abstracts by e-mail to the addresses indicated above before July 15, 2014.
Visa information: Visa affair is the easiest part of the travel. Citizens of many countries do not need an entrance visa for Georgia (citizens of EU countries, USA, Japan, Israel, Turkey, Canada, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Moldova, Russia, Ukraine, etc.). Citizens of some countries, including citizens of Iran, can obtain a visa while crossing the border of Georgia at official checkpoints, including all airports of Georgia.

Accommodation: Information
about hotels and accommodation in Tbilisi can be found at the conference WEB page. If you need our help, you have to send us your choice and exact dates of arrival and departure before July 1. We will negotiate with hotel administrations and reserve rooms. Hotel prices in Tbilisi start from 40 USD room/night.
Weather in September in Tbilisi is warm and smooth, mostly dry.
Satellite conference. Immediately after the CMC I, September 8-12, 2014, will be organized V International conference of the Georgian Mathematical Union which will be held in Batumi, Georgia. Batumi is a Black sea resort of Georgia and September weather in Batumi is very smooth, with warm water. Organizers plan transportation from Tbilisi to Batumi by buses. It is also possible to travel by railway or fly to Batumi. A wide range of social programs including city tours and visits to historical places will be available in Tbilisi, during transportation to Batumi and in Batumi.
