VI Conference of GMU

The Joint Conference will be held on September 5-9, 2016 (september 4 arriving day), in Batumi, Black Sea resort of Georgia.

The Conference venue: Sh. Rustaveli State University (Batumi), Ninoshvili str.35.
1. This site provides all information about participants, plenary speakers, conference topics, flights, hotels, visas, etc.
2. Please purchase a valid health insurance for Georgia.
3. Foreign participants pay the Conference fee (compulsory), Conference Dinner and excursions (optional) upon arrival, during the registration. There is no conference fee for accompanying persons, but they have to pay for Conference Dinner and excursion.
4. Conference fees

GMU and GeoMech Members (with or without contribution)		60 GEL (30 USD)
Non-Members		80 GEL (40 USD)
Young researchers (under 30)		40 GEL (20 USD)
Master and PhD Students		25 GEL (12 USD)
All participants, including organizers and invited speakers, will pay conference fee.

5. From the Airport Batumi:
Batumi municipal bus No.10 has a fixed route: Airport-Batumi Centre. Bus stop is in front of the terminal and it takes 20 minute for a bus to get to the city center. The travel fee is 0.40 GEL.
Taxis are available right upon the exit of the terminal; it is approximately 10-15 minute drive to the city center (about 6 kilometer) and Gonio (about 8 kilometer). Taxi fee is about 15-20 GEL.
6. From the Central Railway Station:
From Railway station there are many public buses and microbuses to City center, Batumi University and Gonio. Bus tickets cost is 0.4 GEL, microbus tickets 1 GEL.
7. Currency Exchange: There are many Currency Exchange Offices available in Batumi, including the Airport.

Weather in September in Batumi is rather hot and humid. It is an immense pleasure to swim in the sea when the weather is hot.
