 First Announcement

Description, venue and date: The IWOTA workshops bring together mathematicians and engineers working in operator theory and its applications to related fields, ranging from classical analysis, differential and integral equations, complex and harmonic analysis to mathematical physics, mathematical system and control theory, signal processing and numerical analysis. IWOTA gathers leading experts from all over the world for an intensive exchange of information and opinion, and for tracing the future developments in the field.

The 26-th International Workshop on Operator Theory and Applications (IWOTA 2015) will be organized in Tbilisi, Georgia, July 6 to 10, 2015 (arriving day July 5, departure day July 11). The venue of the conference will be chosen later among universities in Tbilisi.
Program of the conference: The daily schedule will consist of one 60 minute plenary talk and four 50 minute invited (semi-plenary) talks in the morning from 9 to 13 o’clock and forty to sixty 25 minute contributed talks in 7-10 parallel thematic sessions from 15 to 19 o’clock every day, during 4 working days. Wednesday July 8 will a day of excursions. Poster sessions might be organized as well. The list of plenary and invited speakers will be published in the nearest future on the conference WEB.
Thematic Sessions: Participants wishing to organize Thematic Sessions are invited to send applications to organizers prior March 15, 2015 together with a preliminary list of at least 5 participants. Otherwise no constraints.
Conference fee: 140 Euro or equivalent amounts in USD or GEL (Georgian Lari) for those participants who will register and send fee to organizers before May 15 (70 Euro for an accompanying person). After May 15 the fee will rise to 170 Euros (to 80 Euros for an accompanying person). The fee includes: free conference kit (for participants), free Coffee Breaks, free lunches, free Conference Dinner and free excursion with extended lunch on July 8.
An alternative conference fee: 70 Euro or equivalent amounts in USD or GEL (Georgian Lari) for those participants who will register and send fee to organizers before May 15 After May 15 the fee will rise to 90 Euros. Fee includes: free conference kit and free Coffee breaks. In this case Lunches, Conference Dinner and Excursion with extended lunch on July 8 are not included. These are optional and will cost 30 Euros each.
Support for early career mathematicians: We will apply for funding to support early career mathematicians (under 35). If we succeed to get funding we will announce selection and ask for certain documents. A Selection Committee will select about 20 grantees, who will get support for local expenses: free hotel, free conference kit free Coffee Breaks, free lunches, free Conference Dinner and free excursion with extended lunch on July 8.

Abstract submission: Abstract for the book of abstracts should be prepared in LaTex format and does not exceed one page. For instructions and template files contact organizers or visit the Conference WEB. We kindly ask you to follow the rules, indicated in the template files. The abstract template file is downloadable from the conference WEB and will be mailed upon your request. Participants have to submit the LaTeX-source and PDF files of abstracts by e-mail to the addresses indicated above or uploaded from the Conference Registration WEB page before April 15, 2015. You will be notified about acceptance of your oral or poster presentation by May 1.
Accommodation: Hotel prices in Tbilisi start from 40 USD room/night. You can reserve a hotel, for example, through WEB http://www.booking.com/ You can also find a private apartment to rent on the WEB https://www.airbnb.com/
    Organizers will negotiate with hotels managements immediately after the venue of the conference will be fixed and inform you about recommended hotels. We will reserve hotel for you if you transfer hotel costs with your conference fee to our account May 15, 2015 (a detailed information will be disseminated later).
Social programs: A wide range of social programs including city tours and visits to historical places will be available every day for accompanying persons. A couple of tours with buses to popular touristic places, which includes extended lunch, will be suggested during the day off on July 8. Transportation to the satellite conference in Batumi (see below) will include some sightseeing in Kutaisi, which will be suggested to participants of both conferences.
Visa information: Visa affair is the easiest part of the travel. Citizens of many countries do not need an entrance visa for Georgia (citizens of EU countries, USA, Japan, Israel, Turkey, Canada, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Moldova, Ukraine, Russia etc. More precise information can be retrieved from the WEB https://www.geoconsul.gov.ge/en/nonvisa_en.html. Citizens of some countries, including citizens of Iran, India, Pakistan etc., should apply for a visa in Consulates of Georgia in their own or nearest countries. Travel information: Tbilisi can be reached by airplane from most of the big airports of Europe, Turkey and former Soviet republics. Please browse the WEB  http://www.tbilisiairport.com/en-EN/ Budget flights are available by Pegasus (Turkey), Vizz Air (from Ukraine), FlyVista (Georgia), Baltic Air (Letland).
Weather
in July in Tbilisi is rather hot and mostly dry.
Satellite conference: Immediately after the IWOTA 2015, on July 12-16, 2015, the sixth annual International conference of the Georgian Mathematical Union will be held in Batumi, Georgia. Batumi is a Black Sea resort of Georgia and weather in Batumi is pleasant. Organizers plan transportation from Tbilisi to Batumi by buses. It is also possible to travel by railway or fly to Batumi (distance 370 km). A wide range of social programs including city tours and visits to historical places will be available during transportation to Batumi and in Batumi.
